2014 Festival of Lights
Join us under downtown's historic oaks to commemorate Baton Rouge's oldest holiday tradition. Transforming the winter sky into a wonderland, North Boulevard will be lit with half a million sparkling lights. Experience the magic beneath the 35-foot Christmas tree in North Boulevard Town Square. Enjoy FREE ice skating and sled down 10 tons of real snow at the Repentance Park Snow Village. Visit Santa's Gift Shop and listen to holiday music during an evening of visual, and performing arts. Don't miss the many downtown holiday open houses and art showings.

Reindeer Run & Jingle Bell Jog
Forum 35's 2014 Reindeer Run 5k and Jingle Bell Jog 1 mile fun run will take place Friday, December 5, 2014 in downtown Baton Rouge. Both runs will start and finish at Lafayette Park on the corner of Lafayette Street and North Blvd. Reindeer Run is held in conjunction with the Downtown Festival of Lights featuring Santa Claus, music, fireworks, FREE outdoor ice skating and much more. Bring your family out for the run and the holiday fun!

Be the brightest bike on the road. Depart City Park Gallery at 5:30 p.m. Arrive Old Governor's Mansion 5:45 p.m. Parade on North Boulevard ending at Bike Carrol at Town Square in time for the lighting of the tree.

Trees of Light
Trees of Light: A Night of Music will be held on Wednesday, December 3 at the Old State Capitol at 6PM to benefit The Hospice of Baton Rouge, the oldest hospice in Baton Rouge and the only non-profit hospice serving the Baton Rouge community. Join The Hospice of Baton Rouge for an evening of music, dance and fine food. Father Greg Daigle, in his best tenor voice, will present a selection of favorite holiday songs ranging from sacred to celebratory. Dance to the music of the Fantastic Big Band Orchestra of Ned Fasullo as you start your holiday season. Hors d'oeuvres created by Heirloom Cuisine will be a highlight of the evening.

Santa in the Senate: Old State Capitol
The Old State Capitol's decorations will highlight Fresh Christmas greens, berries, and garlands of fresh fruit. Garland and ribbon adorn the historic fence. Two 15-foot Christmas trees will glow with Victorian ornaments from long ago. Dozens of Poinsettia plants will fill the first and second floors and winding staircase. The Old State Capitol is open to the public free of charge. Santa in the Senate includes pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 6:30PM-9PM. A professional picture will be taken by Party Box Photo Booth for $10.00 in the Senate chamber. Your holiday pictures are printed immediately.

LASM Holiday Shows and Shopping
Enjoy hands-on activities with Santa's elves, shopping in The Museum Store, and special planetarium showings of Let It Snow at 5:00, 7:00, and 8:00PM.
