Third Annual Cool Winter Nights and Hot Jazz Concerts - featuring Brian Shaw, trumpet; Willis Delony, piano; and Bill Grimes, bass. They will be performing new and classic holiday favorites with an 18 piece big band!

The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou at River Center
The Nutcracker: A Tale from the Bayou, created by Molly Buchmann and Sharon Mathews in 1991, has become one of the most highly-awaited events of each Christmas holiday Season. Incorporating local landmarks and accompanied by the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, this lavish production continues to thrill adults and children alike.

Come celebrate Life Day with The Family Dinner Comedy Troupe, as they dissect the Macaulay Culkin tour de force Home Alone. A story of two seemingly small-time burglars turn crazed attempt murderers upon the discovery that they have been duped by an 8 year old. This interactive movie experience pokes fun with live commentary, digital skits, and improv!

Ice Skating on the River at River Center
The Baton Rouge River Center presents Ice Skating on the River. This holiday tradition will kick off the season on Friday, December 19, 2014 with a FREE opening night session sponsored by WAFB. For one night only, the Coca-Cola Santa Truck will be at the Baton Rouge River Center, spreading the joy of the season.

First United Methodist Carols and Candlelight
Downtown Baton Rouge will come alive with the Christmas spirit in a unique and different way! December 21st, First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge invites you to North Boulevard Town Square for an evening of music and fellowship with the America Street band as they perform contemporary Christmas worship songs. The concert starts at 6PM and there will be plenty of hot chocolate and cheer. Everyone is asked to bring a folding chair or blanket. Candles will be provided.

Saturday at the Market
Saturday is your last chance to shop for unique gifts from local farmers and artisans at the Markets! Red Stick Farmers Market and Main Street Market will offer plenty of grab and go holiday gift baskets, jewelry, artisan food items, sweet treats and of course farm fresh produce! At 10AM, sample a delicious dish from chef Kelley McCann, Executive chef of Galatoire's Bistro, during the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration.

Classic Christmas Celebration at the USS Kidd
Join the USS Kidd Museum this holiday season for a free screening of some Classic Christmas Movies in the Museum Theatre. Family favorites such as: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," "Frosty the Snowman" and "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town" will be screened daily. Movie entrance is FREE with your paid admission to the museum.

Save the Date: Red Stick Revelry
Please save the date for downtown's New Year's Eve celebration, Red Stick Revelry. This 2nd Annual celebration will feature local favorite David St. Romain who will perform at 6:30PM on Dec. 31 at the Crest Stage. He will be followed by a return performance by the band Phat Hat from 9PM to midnight as the Red Stick drops from the Town Square Media Beacon!
