Providence Corporate Cup 5K The Providence Corporate Cup Run/Walk includes thousands of people participating each year as company teams or individuals on a 5k (3.1 mile) race course. Hundreds of companies throughout our community participate, and many companies have on-site tent locations for their employees, business associates, and friends. Singer Songwriter Showcase The Spring Songwriter Showcase (previous Holiday Songwriter Night rescheduled from Dec. 30th) will feature our "homeboys" that are making waves on the music scene in Nashville. After 4 sell out years in the Hartley Vey Theatre, this event moves into the Manship Theatre! This year's lineup includes Jodi James, David Borne', Rhett Anthony, CJ Solar, Brent Anderson, & Jim McCormick. The Fading Line: A Commemoration of the 1953 Baton Rouge Bus Boycott The Fading Line: A Commemoration of the 1953 Baton Rouge Bus Boycott is a multi-media performance which relays the story of the nation's first successful boycott of the Civil Rights Movement. Mid City Dance Project, Inc. in conjunction with New Venture Theatre, guest artists, and local professional artists will use dance, spoken word, music and video oral histories of actual participants to bring awareness and celebrate the champions of this nine-day, successful and peaceful protest.

Glory and Gumbo at St. James The St. James Center for Spiritual Formation announces a wonderful speaking series to be presented during the ECW Friday Lenten Gumbo lunches. Six preachers from various religious traditions are scheduled to speak on successive Fridays, in the church, from 12:05 to 12:30PM, so attendees may enjoy gumbo then the speaker, or the speaker, then gumbo in Bishops Hall!
