Live After Five - Hai Karate
Live after Five in Downtown Baton Rouge is the Capital City's premier FREE outdoor concert series. The Spring season continues with the funky soul of Hai Karate! Live After Five Concerts are held on Fridays from 5PM-8PM in North Boulevard Town Square under the award winning Crest sculpture. Make sure to check out the LINE-UP because you aren't going to want to miss a show!

The Baton Rouge Blues Foundation proudly brings the 21st Annual Baton Rouge Blues Festival to downtown Baton Rouge Saturday, April 11, 2015, from 11AM to 9:30PM,located in and around Repentance Park and Galvez Plaza. This event is FREE and open to the public. Come out and enjoy a full day of great music and food!

Anniversary of the Kamikaze Attack
The 70th Anniversary ceremony remembering the fallen and honoring the survivors will be held at 1:55PM aboard the ship. The ceremony is open to the public at no charge. This year, four survivors of the attack, William T. Barnhouse, Maurice "Boy" Clements, Fred King, and Harrold Lamb, will be making the journey to Baton Rouge for this ceremony. The USS KIDD Veterans Museum has been working with several community partners to make this event a memorable one for both the survivors and their families and educational for the public.

Spanish Town Walking Tour
Learn about the Spanish Town neighborhood, its historic significance and colorful architecture. Tours begin at 9:15 a.m. at the Capitol Park Museum. Patrons are advised to dress comfortably. During inclement weather, walks will be moved to the multi-purpose room for an informative talk including modern and historic images. Tours generally last 60 to 90 minutes. All walking tours are free and leave from the Museum lobby.

Saturday Arts for Families: Unusual Masterpieces
Families will use unconventional artistic tools to create their own masterpieces in the museum gallery. Drawing inspiration from the art of Margaret Evangeline, James McNeill Whistler, and Sandra Russell Clark, families will explore the diversity of artistic methods before getting to work on an unusual artistic practice using chalk pastels and milk-soaked fabric. This free event begins in the museum gallery at 10:30AM and lasts until 12PM.

Red Stick Farmer's Market
Come on out this Saturday, April 11, for a day of music, fresh air, sunshine, fresh veggies and fun. Inside Main Street Market, vendors will be serving hot breakfast meals including Louisiana shrimp and grits, breakfast burritos, croissant breakfast sandwiches, unique crepes and more. Bring the kids out and enjoy live music by Bluegrass Jam. Local farmers and food artisans will have a variety of unique offerings including Swiss chard and other leafy greens, Ponchatoula strawberries, artisan breads, specialty hummus and cheese dips, a variety of meats, soft-shell crabs, fresh goat milk and much more. The Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration inside Main Street Market will take place at 10 a.m. in the North Street seating area featuring fresh and local ingredients from the market in seasonal recipes. This week's cooking demonstration will feature Sara Vincent from Hooked on Re. Pick up some tips and tricks and sample her dish this Saturday.
