American Graffiti at Manship
In honor of our newest exhibit - Gary Noel: VINTAGE.
The Manship Theatre will be showing the film American Graffiti. This Academy Award-nominated classic, voted one of the American Film Institute's top 100 Films Of All Time, features the coming of age of four teenagers on their last summer night before college. Rediscover drag racing, Inspiration Point and drive-ins all over again in this nostalgic look back at the early '60s.

St. Jude Run for the Children 5K
This family friendly event is going to "RUN to SUMMER FUN" through downtown Baton Rouge. The whole family can enjoy participating in the 5K run or 1 mile fun run/walk. When your race is over there will be live entertainment, food, and fun. Awards will be given for the overall top male and female finishers, as well as the fasted three male and female in each group.

The Baton Rouge Concert Band is moving their Annual Memorial Day Concert to North Boulevard Town Square. Come out at 7PM to experience a great performance in Galvez Plaza. Patriotic music will be playing throughout the day within Town Square.

Memorial Day Service at the Kidd
Veterans and community members are invited to a Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony being sponsored by the USS KIDD Veterans Museum on Memorial Day. The ceremony will be held in the Louisiana Memorial Plaza, located at 305 South River Road, at 10AM on Monday, May 25th. This event is free and open to the public.

KIDD Keynotes: Fake Pot, Real Danger
KIDD Keynotes is a free, monthly lecture series sponsored by the USS KIDD Veterans Museum. This month's topic will help educate the public on the dangers of synthetic cannabinoid use. East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner William "Beau" Clark, MD, FACEP, D-ABMDI will be our keynote speaker.

Capoeira in Town Square
Join Capoeira Baton Rouge in North Boulevard Town Square at Galvez Plaza for FREE basic Capoeira classes on Wednesdays at 7PM and Sundays at 6PM. Capoeira is a Brazilian art form which combines fight, dance, and rhythmic movements that are performed in a dialog between players. Students can expect to learn basic Capoeira movements and acrobatics in order to enhance ones flexibility and general muscle strength. Most of the classes start with a brief warm-up and learning Capoeira, movements through strength, technique, history, and music. By doing Capoeira people get connected with Brazilian and African culture.
