The opening reception for the exhibit The Enduring Architecture of A. Hays Town will take place June 17th from 5:30-7:30PM. Signed copies of The Louisiana Houses of A. Hays Town by Cyril Vetter and Philip Gould will be available for purchase. There will also be several showings of the documentary 1000 Homes: The Legacy of A. Hays Town. Food and drink are provided. Capoeira in Town Square
Join Capoeira Baton Rouge in North Boulevard Town Square at Galvez Plaza for FREE basic Capoeira classes on Wednesdays at 7PM and Sundays at 6PM. Capoeira is a Brazilian art form which combines fight, dance, and rhythmic movements that are performed in a dialog between players. Students can expect to learn basic Capoeira movements and acrobatics in order to enhance ones flexibility and general muscle strength. Most of the classes start with a brief warm-up and learning Capoeira, movements through strength, technique, history, and music. Capoeira connects people with Brazilian and African culture.

Summer Fresh Fest at the Market
The Market celebrates all things blueberry this Saturday during Blueberry Bash. The 10AM Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration inside Main Street Market features fresh blueberry recipes from Kathy Mangham of Gourmet Girls. Pick up seasonal blueberry recipes outside at the Market Information Booth and enjoy music by Kevin Johnson Unplugged.
