Main Street Market
In its unique location in the Galvez Parking Garage, the Market serves as a center of commerce, a community gathering place and revitalization tool for our Central Business District. The Market operates six days a week, Monday through Saturday. Main Street Market provides a daily venue for downtown employees and visitors to Baton Rouge and also serves as the location for the Saturday Farmers Market. FREE Parking is available inside the Galvez Parking Garage.

I Am Chris Farley at Manship
This weekend the Manship Theatre will be showing I Am Chris Farley, a documentary about the actor who lived his life full speed and was committed to making everyone around him laugh out loud. I Am Chris Farley tells his hilarious, touching and wildly entertaining story for the first time ever - from his early days, his work at the legendary Second City, through to his rapid rise to the top of the comedy world on "Saturday Night Live" and in hit films like Tommy Boy and Black Sheep.

Unveiling of the Walls Project #21 "On the Shoulders of Giants"
The Walls Project will be unveiling its latest completed mural on Thursday. Titled "On the Shoulders of Giants" the mural is located on the Florida St. side of the Mentorship Academy. The title references an often used metaphor, attributed here to Isaac Newton, and the mural depicts inspirational images of young faces surrounded by STEM imagery.

Keep the Spirit of '45 Alive
This Sunday the USS KIDD and Belle of Baton Rouge will host an exclusive "Keep the Spirit of '45 Alive" event, aimed at preserving and honoring the legacy of the women and men of the World War II generation. There will be a one-of-a-kind USI style musical performance and guests are encouraged to wear 1940s outfits and bring their dancing shoes.

Super Salsa Saturday at the Market
Bring friends and family downtown this Saturday to celebrate National Farmers Market Week. Mestizo's chef and owner Jim Urdiales will spice things up during the 10 am Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration with fresh summer salsa recipes. It's also a great time to pick up fresh produce for back to school meals and gourmet frozen meals for busy weeknights.
