Duany to Speak tonight at Old State Capitol!

Andres Duany, internationally known expert and leader in smart growth and new urbanism, will kick off the Smart Growth Summit tonight at 7 pm in the Old State Capitol as the Summit's keynote speaker. You are invited to attend the free event. A reception begins at 6:30 pm and you are encouraged to arrive early.

As the principal planner in downtown BR's master plan, Plan Baton Rouge, he electrified the community with his intensive charrette process over a 7 day period that produced the vision for the downtown in 1998. Much success and many projects can be attributed to this stellar plan that has received national recognition. In fact, the plan is in the final stages of being updated, due to the implementation of over 80% of the original document.

The Downtown Development District welcomes Andres back to town and is proud to be the sponsor of tonight's event. You are encouraged to attend the lecture tonight as well as the entire conference, produced by the Center for Planning Excellence.
