Live After Five and LSU Tailgate Party this Friday!
The Fall 2009 Live After Five season will kick off this Friday with Neighborhood Stars (Dance Mix) at 5PM. This weeks opening concert will also be LSU's Official Tailgate Party to kick off the 2009 Football Season. With the LSU cheerleaders, Mike the Tiger singing on stage, Mens & Womens Basketball players shooting hoops, and appearances from various coaches...you don't want to miss it!!!

Downtown Clean-Up
This Friday will start the next exciting concert series of Live After Five. In our efforts to keep Downtown Baton Rouge an attractive place to be, volunteers will team up with the City of Baton Rouge this Thursday, September 10th, to help clean up Downtown. Volunteers will meet at 4 p.m. in Galvez Plaza.

Baby T-Rex Appearing @ Main Street Market!
An extraordinary friend is headed to the Red Stick Farmers Market this weekend. Baby Tyrannosaurus Rex will make a special appearance at 9:30 a.m. The Fresh from the Market weekly cooking show will feature guest chef Will Spiers from Whole Foods Market. Spiers and host Chef Celeste Gill will demonstrate local menu ideas for fresh and seasonal menus. The cooking show begins at 10 AM inside Main Street Market at the North Street seating area and offers a sampling of the recipes to the Market audience. Musical entertainment will include the bi-weekly Bluegrass Jam which welcomes local musicians to gather for a festive jam session from 11 am until 12:30 pm. The theme for this Saturday's jam be Beatles Bluegrass style and feature several of the all time favorite Beatles recordings.

Downtown's First and Only Med Spa Open House!

Second Saturdays and Living Color @ LSU MOA!
Join the LSU Museum of Art for an evening of art and music on Friday, September 11th. View their newest exhibition, Living Color: Photographs by Judy Cooper and be entertained by the sounds of the Baton Rouge Area Youth Jazz Band.

Also, Second Saturdays this month challenges visitors' abilities to make connections, think outside the box (or frame in this case), and untangle their tongue. Bring a "Take-and-Make" bag home to create your own artwork inspired by your museum visit. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Art Lounge @ Boudreaux & Thibodeaux's
Art Lounge is a weekly art show taking place every Tuesday night in downtown Baton Rouge at 3rd Street Gallery, located inside Boudreaux & Thibodeaux's upstairs bar & patio and sponsored by ICON Studios. Each week they feature a talented artist from the Baton Rouge area. Shows start at 7:00 PM and have NO COVER! The restaurant will be open until 10pm and serving it's full menu upstairs and downstairs.

LSU Tiger Trails kicks off!
LSU Tiger Trails Transit began full-scale operations August 24. The service is FREE to LSU riders and to the general public. With a total of 6 Downtown stops, the Tiger Trails system is fully equipped with GPS and can be tracked on iPhones, iPods or laptop computers. Bus arrival times are every 20-30 minutes and will run Monday-Friday 7AM - 5:30 PM. Below is a link to the transit visualization software page.
