pastime

A DowntownTradition
The Pastime Restaurant started out as a grocery store on the Corner of South Blvd and a gravel road that later became Nicholson Drive, in the early 1920s. Through the years The Pastime has served local area residents and visitors alike in the evening, during downtown events, university sporting events, River Center events, and from downtown hotels, travelers and tourists. They are a casual family restaurant open to all!

Check out Pastime on the web for menus, weekly entertainment, and the history of this Downtown Landmark. Pre-game and post-game with the original LSU gameday shuttle runners!

happys

Meriwether @ 'Happyland' Friday
Check out hometown boys Meriwether in the courtyard of Happy's Friday after Live After Five. Meriwether's diverse tastes is evident on Sons Of Our Fathers, which was recorded in L.A. with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Three Days Grace etc.) and mixed by the similarly lauded Chris Lord-Alge (Underoath, AFI etc.). Both in-the-moment and of-the-ages, the album oozes the angst, urgency and chiming guitars of Meriwether's skinny-jeaned contemporaries, but is built on timeless songwriting qualities: robust riffs; love-at-first-listen melodies; propulsive grooves; and Reilley's evocatively tremulous, versatile voice.
