Live After Five this Friday!
The Fall 2009 Live After Five season will continue this Friday with The Elvin Killerbee Band at 5PM. Come join us for an evening of music, dance, and friends in Galvez Plaza (3rd Street & North Blvd).

A star-studded day of music for National Recovery Day 2009!
Jefferson Starship, Richie Havens and Big Brother and the Holding Company headline a star-studded day of music and other activities in Baton Rouge on Sept. 26, celebrating National Recovery Day 2009 and raising funds for five Louisiana charities that treat alcohol and drug addiction. A free concert is to be held at the State Library with Jefferson Starship and others from 9:30AM - 5PM. Festivities continue later that evening with a benefit concert at the River Center. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster.

Comedian Ron White @ River Center
Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" is best known as the cigar smoking, scotch drinking funnyman from the "Blue Collar Comedy" phenomenon. After two Grammy nominations, a Gold record, and two top rated one-hour specials on comedy central, Ron has established himself as a star in his own right. He will be performing at the River Center Thursday, Sept. 24 @ 7:30PM & Friday, Sept. 25 @ 7:30 & 10PM.

Manhattan Short Film Festival @ Manship Theatre
Catch Manhattan Short, short for Manhattan Short Film Festival is an annual event in which twelve short films are selected as finalists. These twelve films are then distributed to partnering cinemas in four continents to be screened the week of the festival. Each and every audience member at all of our venues are handed a voting card and asked to vote for the one film they think should win. Friday, September 25, 2009 7:30 PM

The Roebucks w/ Elsah @ 'Happyland' Friday
The Roebucks, based in south Louisiana, formed in Baton Rouge in 1991. Lots of twangin' guitar, cheap liquor, corny smartass jokes, semi-interesting stories, and striking good looks. A sort of a Surfin' Johnny Cash meets Bo Diddley kind of thing... Show starts at 8PM.

Tea Party @ Dalton's
Dalton's will host a "Firefly Vodka Tea Party" tonight at 5:30 PM. Join Dalton's for wine & spirits! Sample wine and Firefly Vodka's six flavors, compliments of Dalton's. Hors d'oeuvres will be served. This is a FREE EVENT! WARNING: This aint your grandma's sweet tea! Wine tastings will also be available free of charge!


Downtown Wine Walk!
Registration will be in the Manship / Shaw Center breezeway between Stroube's and The Roux House patio at 5:30PM. Cost for the event is $ 10 and allows for two free two ounce wine tastings per participating venue. Featured wines will be $4 per glass at each establishment. Main Street Market
Chef Celeste Gill welcomes Lance Nacio, owner of Anna Marie Seafood and a fourth generation Louisiana shrimper from Dulac. Chef Gill and Nacio will demonstrate a tailgate menu featuring Louisiana seafood. Musical entertainment will include Bluegrass Jam which welcomes local musicians to gather for a festive jam session from 11 am to 12:30 pm inside Main Street Market.
