2017 is going to be a great year for Baton Rouge, marked with a major yearlong celebration! We are officially celebrating Baton Rouge's Bicentennial with Mayor Sharon Weston Broome on Tuesday, January 17th, 11AM in North Boulevard Town Square. The event produced by the Downtown Business Association & Visit Baton Rouge will include a press conference, live music, and a preview of what is to come in 2017 from the downtown attractions! Everyone is encouraged to wear "Red" next Tuesday to show your support! On behalf of the Baton Rouge Bicentennial Committee, we invite and encourage you to help Louisiana's capital city recognize and celebrate 200 years as an incorporated city. While the area was founded in 1699, it wasn't until 1817 that the city of Baton Rouge was incorporated. Now, 200 years later we're celebrating this milestone and we'd like for you to join us! Throughout the year, bicentennial themed events, exhibits, products, and more will be branded with the official Baton Rouge 200 logo.
