Kurt Elling's rich baritone voice spans four octaves and displays an astonishing technical facility and emotional depth. Elling has an awesome command of rhythm, texture, phrasing, and dynamics, often sounding more like a virtuoso jazz musician than a mere singer.

Lunchtime Lagniappe
On the eve of the 200th Anniversary of the West Florida Republic, relive the history and drama of 1810, the year in which local citizens threw off the last shackles of Spanish colonial rule. This unique - and little remembered - history of East Baton Rouge and the other Florida Parishes will be the focus of a year-long commemoration, beginning in 2010.

The Lunchtime Lagniappe programs will be held every Wednesday at 12 noon at the Louisiana State Museum, located at 660 North Fourth Street. Guests are encouraged to bring lunch and to come and go as their schedules require.
