International Cooking Competition
The Baton Rouge Center for World Affairs will present an evening of international cuisine at the Louisiana State Museum with their International Cooking Competition. Chefs of international cuisine will compete, and guests will taste the fruits of their labor, as well as the fruit of the vine from dozens of countries. LSU vs. Tulane Gameday Shuttles
TheThe Hilton will begin selling LSU shuttle tickets ($18) for the Tulane game at 10AM Thursday morning. The Sheraton will start selling tickets ($18) from their front desk at 9AM Friday morning. Both the Hilton and Sheraton shuttles will depart at 3:30PM and 5PM. Pastime will also be offering their usual shuttle service. Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis and sales start at noon Saturday. The price for a round trip ticket is $12.00.

Get your tickets early because they are selling fast! Enjoy the ease and convenience by avoiding the traffic hassles!

Novelist Dava Sobel Talks About Galileo at LASM
Award-winning novelist Dava Sobel will speak on her best-selling publication Galileo's Daughter, which revisits the life of the great Italian scientist through the eyes of his eldest daughter, a cloistered nun. Their loving relationship, traced through this correspondence, overturns the myth of Galileo as an enemy of the Catholic Church.

Galileo's Daughter won the 1999 Los Angeles Times book prize for science and technology, a 2000 Christopher Award, and was a finalist for the 2000 Pulitzer Prize in biography. This event is free and open to the public.
