Special Birthday Celebration for the Arts Market
Celebrate the 11th birthday of the Baton Rouge Arts Market at 5th at Main Street from 8 a.m. -12 noon this Saturday, November 7!

The celebration includes:
  • Shopping with 70 artists from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Florida!
  • Live entertainment from 9 a.m. - 12 noon provided by rockabilly singer/songwriter Ben Bell.
  • Birthday cupcakes!
  • And for the kids: Artist Anita LeJeune of New Roads will instruct kids in printmaking.This hands-on activity will be taking place in the Arts Market Kids Booth 8 a.m. - 12 noon and kids will get to take home their very own print creations.

Grand Day at St. Joseph Cathedral
Cathedral of St. Joseph will honor grandparents and grandchildren at a special Mass (12PM) followed by a "Four Corners Celebration" on Sunday, November 8 from 12PM - 3PM. Following Mass, a GRAND Celebration will take place on the Four Corners, the original commercial center of Baton Rouge at the intersection of Main and Fourth Streets. Complimentary food and children's activities will give grandparents and their grandchildren an opportunity to enjoy a Sunday event together. Space walks, face painting, caricature drawing, balloon animal art and music will be entertaining for children of all ages.

Downtown Wine Walk
Registration will be in the Manship / Shaw Center breezeway between Stroube's and The Roux House patio at 5:30PM. Cost for the event is $10 and allows for two free two ounce wine tastings per participating venue. Featured wines will be $4 per glass at each establishment. Join us to celebrate the 13th Anniversary of Red Stick Farmers Market and the 7th Anniversary of Main Street Market as we cut the birthday cake at 9 AM this Saturday! Festivities will include a kids garden tent, face painting and an art area for the kids to design birthday cards for the Markets! The Fresh from the Market cooking show will feature Chef Mike Dardenne of DeAngelos Casual Italian Dining. Chef Dardenne and host Chef Celeste Gill will use the bounty of the fall harvest to demonstrate seasonal menu ideas. The cooking demonstration begins at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market.
