4 downtown awards in 2018!
fitting 30 year celebration finale!

As the DDD's 30th Anniversary comes to a close, Downtown Baton Rouge has received multiple local and state awards in 2018! The Louisiana Chapter of the American Planning Association recognized two exemplary downtown public spaces, Historic Third Street and the Central Green. The Baton Rouge Growth Coalition also recognized the recently completed City Hall Plaza. Earlier this year, Davis Rhorer, Executive Director of the DDD, was also recognized for his downtown leadership.

The recognition of DDD's leadership and these public spaces is a direct result of the immense downtown stakeholder support over the past 30 years in the efforts to implement quality downtown public spaces in order to catalyze private investment in the city's core.

City Hall Plaza: 2018 Good Growth Award - Landscape Category. The redesign of this plaza improves accessibility, expands the concert space to both sides of the Crest sculpture and Galvez Stage, and provides a large green lawn and shade trees.
