Parking Changes in Spanish Town
Spanish Town Parking Permit signs are up in Spanish Town. A new City ordinance requires Spanish Town residents to obtain a $5 parking pass from DPW Traffic Engineering for on street parking. The passes are meant to resolve parking issues in Spanish Town, particularly during the Legislative session. The program will help ensure residents can find a parking spot close to their homes. Permits will be required Monday-Friday 6AM - 6PM. Permits can be obtained from DPW's Traffic Engineering Office, 329 Chippewa Street. Spanish Town residents will need their vehicle registration or a copy of a vehicle lease. They also will need two additional proofs of residency: a driver's license, utility bill and a property tax bill or a rental/lease agreement, the ordinance says. Cash, check or money order are all accepted. The permits are tags that hang from rearview mirrors, or can be displayed prominently in vehicles parked in the neighborhood. Please call (225) 389-3246 for more information.
