A MESSAGE FROM THE DDD
In response to the current COVID-19 virus, Mayor-President Broome has issued an executive order to declare a public health emergency in East Baton Rouge Parish. All permitted public events have been postponed until further notice.

Private events are up to the discretion of organizers, though many have already been postponed out of an abundance of caution. The Governor has also issued a proclamation halting gatherings of more than 250 people with some exemptions, so this may effect your plans.

If you plan to attend any gatherings, please use discretion and practice social distancing. Please remain calm and stay informed. You can find more details on the City-Parish website. Please check the site regularly for updated information.

As our downtown businesses will surely experience some impact from the cancellation of events, please keep them in mind, and let's all do what we can to show our support by continuing to visit their establishments. We can minimize the impact to our community by practicing common sense hygiene, and being aware of our environment.

Please remember that many of our downtown businesses offer online ordering and delivery for your convenience.

Though there will be no public assembly for an undetermined amount of time, our great parks, greenways, and walking trails are still available. We encourage you to get outdoors for some fresh air and sunshine. Visit the riverfront and check out the river, new Rotary Sculpture, and the renovated Riverfront Plaza.

We wish you all and your families the best, as we all do our part to help combat the spread of the virus and maintain a positive attitude.

Thanks,

Davis Rhorer
