Let's kick-off the holiday season tonight at 6:00pm with the Downtown Festival of Light 'Lite' - a virtual lighting of the 35-foot Christmas Tree at North Boulevard Town Square.
With the help of WAFB, the annual lighting of Baton Rouge's Christmas Tree will be aired live on Channel 9 at 6:10pm. Tune in as the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra Carolers will entertain the TV audience prior to Mayor-President Broome lighting the Christmas Tree at 6:15pm!
Downtown will be buzzing with holiday spirit with lights along the North Boulevard, Bayou Cirque roaming actors, Ice Skating at the River Center, and music by Rhett Glindmeyer, Cam Pyle, and Amber McCain along Third Street. Check out the many downtown restaurants that will have specials taking place this holiday season.
*Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the lighting this year will be a virtual event. There will be no food and beverage vendors as part of the festival and unfortunately we will not have fireworks or real snow for sledding
