Soulhaven at Roux House
Soulhaven started in late 2007 as a split off from the Cam Pyle Band in Baton Rouge, La. The band maintains the fun, party atmosphere, and has supplemented the set list with a more soulful side. A unique twist in all the Soulhaven material reminds people why they leave the house to hear live music. Catch them at The Roux House this Friday.

Shaw Center Shoot-out
Shaw Center for the Arts will host the second annual Shaw Center Shootout on Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Copper Mill Golf Club in Zachary. The event is a three-person scramble featuring hole-in-one prizes, door prizes, drawings, and gifts for all participants, along with lunch provided by Capital City Grill. Shotgun start is 12:30pm with driving range and lunch available prior to teeing off. Cost is $300 per team. Sponsorships are still available. Walk this Way in History!
Beginning the second Saturday of October 2009, guides John Sykes and Susan Moreau of the State Museum, will be giving tours of landmarks and historic areas. The topics will vary monthly as the series moves forward. All walks are free and open to the public. March 13 hear stories of Third Street, Baton Rouge's old shopping and nightlife center. Tours begin at 9:00 am at the Louisiana State Museum, 660 N. Fourth Street. Walks may be cancelled for inclement weather. Patrons are advised to dress comfortably for the 45-minute tours. SXSW NIGHT! @ Red Star

St. Patrick's Day Harvest
Make the Red Stick Farmers Market your stop for Irish menu ingredients this Saturday. Stop in early for breakfast and enjoy the music of the The Bagasse Boys starting at 8:30 AM inside the Main Street entrance to Main Street Market. Then head down to the North Street entrance to catch the popular Fresh from the Market cooking show at 10 AM. Local farmers Charles Glaser and Frank Fekete will join host Chef Celeste Gill and offer tips on how to prepare locally grown cabbage. The show will focus on recipes to celebrate St. Patrick's Day including hot cabbage casserole and a festive slaw.

Community Garage Sale
Fleur Du Jour is holding a Community Garage Sale to benefit the victims of the Haiti earthquake on Saturday, March 13 from 8AM - 5PM. They are asking the community for items to be donated for the sale. They will be accepting donations this week and until Friday the 12th. They will gladly accept anything that you may no longer be in need of: clothes, furniture, games, housewares, shoes, etc. (no irreparable items). With an entire community donating we know the sale will not only be successful, but also a unique shopping experience.
