Baton Rouge Symphony
The orchestra is joined by their very own Pricipal Flute, Rachel Ciraldo who brings to us a composition by a young modern composer named Martin Kennedy. Another living composer is featured on this concert with Joseph Schwantner's piece Chasing Light.... Joseph Schwantner's Chasing Light... is part of Ford Made in America, made possible by Ford Motor Company Fund. Bernstein's entertaining and nostalgic Symphonic Dances from "West Side Story", and Dvorak's Slavonic Dances weave a thread of energy sure to have you riveted in your seats!

Of Moving Colors Presents: Aqua
Local contemporary dance-theatre company Of Moving Colors premiers a new "colorworks" production March 20th and 21st, 2010 entitled Aqua. Artistic Director Garland Goodwin-Wilson dives deep into all things liquid as she presents a new dancework featuring the company's exceptional dancers presenting dances and images set to surfer music, the sounds of the ocean and music with Caribbean influences. For the first time, OMC will also premier a Cirque du Soleil-styled work in collaboration with LSU's Nick Erikson in which dancers hang from 14-foot-long silks.

2010 Great American Clean-Up
The GAC is a national program of KAB's 500+ affiliates that for the past 20 years has united community activists in one day each spring of trash and litter pick-up that also includes activities such as renovating playgrounds, cleaning up waterways and seashores, planting trees, beautifying parks, graffiti removal and building restoration, conducting recycling collections, youth education and litter-free events. This year's clean-up will be Saturday, March 20, 8:30-12AM with registration starting at 8AM.

Downtown headquarters will be: Old State Capitol building, Capitol Grocery at Spanish Town and 7th, and Frosttop at the corner of Government St and St. Ferdinand.

Red Stick Farmer's Market
The Market's green nurseries will have a variety of spring vegetable and landscape plants, shrubs and trees available for home gardeners. Professional sharpener Doyle Hanson will be back so don't forget your garden tools and kitchen cutlery. Musician Benjamin Moore will play outside at the farmers market and the Lagniappe Dulcimers return to Main Street Market. The Fresh from the Market cooking show will welcome Cast Iron Chef Finalist Chris Herring to cook fresh and local with host Chef Celeste Gill.
