Stop by the River Center Branch Library tomorrow for a first look at design plans for the new Bus Rapid Transit system. This open house public meeting is hosted by Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and the MOVEBR Program Management team in partnership with CATS and Build Baton Rouge.
This project includes creating a Bus Rapid Transit corridor to provide a high-quality rapid transit mode for buses, linking the north and south side of the city to downtown. BRT is designed to reduce travel times and provide a high level of passenger amenities including frequent service, specially designed stations, real-time schedule information displays at stations, level boarding at stations, improved station lighting, improved pedestrian and bicycle connections to stations, and bicycle amenities at stations.
