Sunday in the Park
Starting Sunday, April 11th and for the next 6 Sundays, the Arts Council and 225 Magazine will present a variety of top-notch musical entertainment as part of the spring line-up for Sunday in the Park. Catch Fete Louisiane: Cedric Watson & Feufollet (zydeco) in Lafayette Park at the Shaw Center for the Arts from 12 noon - 3PM this Sunday!

Happy's Running Club 2nd Annual Downtown Spectacular 5K
Happy's Running Club 2nd Annual Downtown Spectacular 5,000 Meter Road Race will be on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at 6pm. Run starts at 6pm...live music starts at 5. Live Art, 6 Bands, 8 Restaurants, and oh yeah...a 5k! First 1,000 to register get a Happy's 5k Commemorative Beer Mug!!! In attempts to be better citizens of humanity...this year they will have organic race-t's, recycled shoe drive, recycling of all water and sport bottles, no paper registration (online only), and other sustainable aspects.

Harold & The Purple Crayon
One evening, after thinking it over for some time, Harold decided to go for a walk in the moonlight." So begins Harold and the Purple Crayon, the first of seven delightful picture books by Crockett Johnson, following the zany adventures of an inventive young boy. As it turned out, there wasn't any moon that night nor was there a path to walk on, so Harold simply drew them. And thus his journey began.

Come to the Red Stick Farmers Market this weekend for fresh spring vegetables, Louisiana seafood and many other locally grown and produced items. Looking for recipe inspiration? Be sure to catch the popular Fresh from Market cooking show inside Main Street Market. Host chef Celeste Gill will welcome local cookbook author Gaye Sandoz to teach easy recipes using fresh ingredients found at the Farmers Market. The cooking demonstration begins at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market.
