Capitol Area United Way's "Under the Umbrella" Mardi Gras Event!
The Capitol Area United way will hold Under the Umbrella Saturday February 14, 2009 from 11 a.m.- till. The event will take place in the CAUW parking lot on the corner of 7th and Laurel Streets. Live performance by Andy Smith 4p.m. - 6p.m. Jambalaya, king cake, and beverages will be served.

"Imagining Lincoln: The Louisiana Poetry Project"
The Louisiana Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission will launch a series of poetry readings as part of the nation's varied commemoratives honoring the 16th president of the United States. During the week of Lincoln's birthday a group of Louisiana poets will inaugurate the series with a reading on Sunday, February 8th at 2:00 at the State Library in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Arts Market This Saturday
The Baton Rouge Arts Market is an open-air market and cultural event held on the first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m. until 12 noon. Located at 5th @ Main Street in downtown Baton Rouge, the Arts Market is held in conjunction with the weekly Red Stick Farmers Market and the 6-day-a-week Main Street Market and is a project of the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge.
