The Baton Rouge Police Department's District 5 is pleased to announce that they now provide round-the-clock police presence specifically in Downtown Baton Rouge. Previously, District 5 officers operated from morning to evening, with late night/early morning coverage being handled by a neighboring police district. However, we are excited to share that there is now a continuous presence of District 5 officers downtown, offering enhanced protection for downtown workers, residents, and visitors.

District 5 is led by a dedicated group of community-oriented officers who are deeply connected to and passionate about Downtown Baton Rouge. You can easily connect with an officer at their District 5 hub located at 201 Third Street, and you'll frequently encounter them patrolling the area on bicycles or engaging with downtown stakeholders.
