DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT

TREE REPLACEMENT INITIATIVE

Over the past several years the Downtown Development District has worked to incorporate trees of many species into the City of Baton Rouge infrastructure projects, diversifying the species to avoid total losses during time of disease or extreme weather conditions. The Downtown Tree Initiative will repopulate empty tree wells to reestablish the connection of downtown's civic, cultural, and commerce through a network of greenery in priority areas.
