Exciting news for Downtown Baton Rouge! Plan Baton Rouge III is in the works.
Baton Rouge civic leaders are partnering to launch a new planning process aimed at enhancing Downtown Baton Rouge. A request for proposals has been released to identify a consultant team tasked with developing the plan focusing on the river, connecting destinations and adding more residents downtown. Planning efforts are expected to begin in early 2025.

Helix Mentorship Academy has introduced an innovative Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP) that collaborates with local businesses partners to elevate students' internship experiences! This work study provides students with fun, hands-on experience in the workforce.

This Black Business Month, we are proud to highlight Charles Daniel, the founder of Geaux Ride! A Baton Rouge native and LSU graduate with a background in information technology, Charles found biking to be a much-needed escape from the demands of his career as a data analyst. Inspired by the vibrant landscape, community, and supportive infrastructure of downtown Baton Rouge, Charles turned his passion into a business.
Charles launched Geaux Ride in 2016 with just a lawnmower trailer and 10 bikes. By 2020, he had expanded into a downtown storefront, and Geaux Ride has since become a beloved attraction, drawing both locals and visitors for unique biking experiences. Charles is thrilled to see an increase in black-owned businesses downtown. He celebrates this Black Business Month by recognizing the importace of community support. Charles hopes to inspire future entrepreneurs to pursue their passions, remain lifelong learners, and contribute to the thriving community.
