Sound of Summer Concert Series
The Sounds of Summer concert series is part of a parish-wide celebration of the 200th anniversary of the creation of East Baton Rouge Parish. Residents have expressed their appreciation for events such as Sunday in The Park and Live After Five, and now have the opportunity to extend the live music experience into the summer. Friday concerts are from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Galvez Plaza. The season kicks off this Friday after a rain-out last week with Bonerama. Next week is Mia Borders on June 18 and Big Sam's Funky Nation on June 25. A full schedule of dates through July coming soon.

Professional Networking Happy Hour at Roux House
On Thursday, June 17th from 4:00- 8:00pm The Roux House will continue their Professional Networking Happy Hour. It will be every third Thursday of the month. They have extended the time of the complimentary drinks from 4:00- 6:00pm. This will also include complimentary champagne and hors d'oeuvres. Also, Friday, June 18th, Roux House presents The Dave Matthews Tribute Band. Tickets in advance for $6.00 and $10.00 at the door.

Blueberry Bash at the Market

Celebrate the bountiful Louisiana blueberry harvest at the Markets this Saturday! Several Red Stick Farmers will bring fresh blueberries as well as blueberry wine, blueberry pies, and blueberry muffins. The Fresh from the Market cooking show will also feature blueberries as Chef Jaime Hernandez highlights this "superfood" in seasonal recipes. Join host Chef Celeste Gill and Chef Hernandez at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. Other Fresh Fest fun will include music by Kevin Johnson and a book signing by The Advocate's Smiley Anders.

Second Saturday
What do you get when you combine a random color with an imaginative exclamation and an artwork from the LSU Museum of Art's collection? Play their Art Libs and find out! Their newest gallery game and other adlibbing-activities are sure to entertain. Bring a "Take-and-Make" bag home to create your own artwork inspired by your museum visit. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be accompanied by an adult who is prepared to provide assistance. Groups of 10 or more who would like to participate in the Second Saturday's programs are encouraged to email education curator, Lara Gautreau at lgaut@lsu.edu. LSU Museum of Art @ 10AM

Kids Saturday at LASM
Kids 12 and under are admitted free to all the museum's galleries: the hands-on children's galleries; the Ancient Egypt Gallery with its 2,300-year-old mummy; and the planetarium's Solar System and Universe Galleries. This month, children can read an assortment of Alice in Wonderland books in the Rabbit Hole Reading Nook, and fancy capes are available to wear while touring the Almost Alice exhibition in the art galleries. On KIDS' Saturday, regular admission is charged for adults and children over 12. Children may not attend LASM without an adult. Please note: Free admission does not include planetarium shows. The Mayflower Artist
The Mayflower Artists will be exhibiting their work every Saturday in June from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. An Art After Work reception will be held on Thursday, June17 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The work is also available for viewing by appointment. The location is 755 Napoleon Street at the corner of Mayflower Street. Pottery, original oils, acrylics, watercolor, mixed media, and prints are included. The Mayflower Artists include Marylyn Daniel, Debbie Denstorff, Betty Efferson, Donna Kilbourne, Becky Nash, Nancy Jo Poirrier, Alex Smith, Shannon Stage, and Lynn McDowell Washauer. Journey of Hope NAMI Fundraiser
The Join the National Alliance on Mental Illness as they present Journey of Hope with special guest speaker Pokey Chapman. Activities include a silent auction, wine pull, champagne pour, and catering by Dalton's Downtown. Entertainment for the evening provided by 2 Timin' Trio.
