2010 Fourth of July Star-Spangled Celebration and Fireworks on the Mississippi
The Annual Star-Spangled Celebration activities will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at the Riverfront Stage between the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial and Red Stick Plaza. Tour the USS KIDD and watch the fireworks from the deck. Tickets may be purchased at the USS KIDD Veterans Memorial Gift Shop. Live music, food, and fun for the kids.

Sound of Summer Concert Series
The Sounds of Summer concert series is part of a parish-wide celebration of the 200th anniversary of the creation of East Baton Rouge Parish. Residents have expressed their appreciation for events such as Sunday in The Park and Live After Five, and now have the opportunity to extend the live music experience into the summer. Friday concerts are from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Galvez Plaza. This week is Herman Jackson's Big Band on June 25.

Summer Ice Skating and Discover Downtown Adventure Special
Looking for a cool activity to share with the whole family? Beat the heat this summer with Summer Ice Skating on the River. SMG is pleased to announce Summer Ice Skating on the River July 2nd through the 18th, including Fourth of July. Summer Ice Skating is part of a parish wide celebration of the Bicentennial of East Baton Rouge Parish. In addition, a Discover Downtown Adventure Special is available and includes skating and admission vouchers to USS KIDD and LASM for one low price of $18. Tickets are available through the River Center.

LSU MOA Fundraiser
The LSU Museum of Art will hold their Fourth of July fundraiser this Sunday from 6-10PM. Enjoy delicious BBQ and specialty drinks. Experience the fireworks on the Mississippi from the best view in the city. $125 for Museum Members, $150 for non-members. Adults 21 and older. All proceed support LSU Museum of Art Programming. Arts Market this weekend
Celebrate originality, creativity and freedom of expression as part of your 4th of July festivities. The Baton Rouge Arts Market showcases original, hand-made works every first Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at 5th and Main Streets in Downtown Baton Rouge. Start your holiday celebrations this Saturday with over 50 artists from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Florida who will present original works of art in a variety of mediums including, pottery, jewelry, woodwork, textiles, photographs, glass, paintings, sculpture, hand-made soaps and so much more.

Star Spangled Saturday at MSM
Star Spangled Saturday kicks off the Fourth of July weekend downtown with local musician and trumpeter John Gray playing a patriotic melody to open the Market. His trio will join him to continue to play throughout the morning as part of the special festivities. Shop for watermelons, cantaloupes, corn and blueberries to make your patriotic celebration fresh, local and seasonal! The Dardenne Brothers will spice up the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration with recipes featuring their locally produced line of spices. There will be face painting by Liz Lopes, gardening tips form the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners and knife sharpening by Doyle Hanson. All of this plus the Arts Market with over 60 regional artists! Bring family, friends, and out of town company to celebrate the holiday weekend!
