'30 on the 30th'
Pots are placed and ready for planting!
The Downtown Business Association, Downtown Development District, Department of Public Works & Keep Baton Rouge Beautiful have joined together to create ''30 on the 30th' in the Downtown area.
30 large cement pots have been placed on corners around Downtown. Local garden clubs, downtown businesses, and others will meet at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center tomorrow morning to be sent off to the various corners to plant the greenery and flowers in each pot. See map link below for location of pots.
These 30 pots will enhance the streetscape and are the first phase of a beautification plan for the downtown area. They will create a lasting first impression to our visitors and assist with the city's future economic development efforts.
Through efforts of the Downtown Business Association, the pots will have continuous maintenance and care.
You are invited to come and join in the fun! We need your help to assemble the plantings tomorrow morning, Saturday, October 30th! Please meet at the Hilton Capitol Center at 9AM. Since it is Halloween weekend, please feel free to wear a costume! We'll be by your location with Treats while you volunteer!!!
