Lake Quick Care Open
Lake Quick Care is open at 307 Third Street! Hours are 8AM - 6PM Monday - Friday. Lake Quick Care is a quick and convenient option to treat common minor illnesses and skin conditions. Healthcare services are provided by nurse practitioners specifically trained to treat such conditions, as well as vaccinations and laceration repairs. No appointment is necessary, and visits are covered by most insurance plans. We welcome them to the Downtown community!

Touchdown Express & Pastime Gameday Shuttles
The Capital Area Transit System (CATS) will continue its Touchdown Express Shuttle service from Downtown to LSU Home Football Games on Saturday, November 6. The shuttle will provide continuous service, beginning four hours prior to game kickoff, and ending one hour after the game ends. Pick-up is at Galvez Plaza (on the corner of Third Street and North Boulevard.) Kick-off for this week's game against Alabama is 2:30PM. The shuttle service is only $1.75 each way ($3.50 round trip) and can be purchased at the Hilton Capitol Center, Belle of Baton Rouge Hotel, and Galvez Plaza starting at the first pick-up time.

Pastime Restaurant also offers a shuttle service for homes games for $12. The first shuttle leaves 3 hours before the kickoff and the next bus will leave when it fills up. Call them at 225-343-5490 or visit for additional information.

Celebrate the Anniversary of the Markets
Red Stick Farmers Market marks 14 years in Downtown Baton Rouge while Main Street Market turns 8 years old. Join the farmers for birthday cake at 9:30 AM and enjoy live music by the John Gray Trio throughout the morning. Host chef Celeste Gill and the Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration welcome special guest Scott Rogers, host of The Around Town television show at 10 AM inside Main Street Market. First Saturday activities also include the Arts Market, the Lagniappe Dulcimer Society, and the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners. Stop by the hospitality booth to give a "birthday" gift to the Market and learn about the new token currency system. Now accepting Louisiana Purchase, credit and debit cards in exchange for market tokens.

Special 12th Birthday Celebration at Arts Market
A 12th birthday celebration for the Arts Market will take place this Saturday including shopping with over 60 artists from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Florida, Live entertainment from 9:30-11:30 a.m. provided by the John Gray Jazz Trio, sweet treats from MJ's Cafe, and instruction by artist Quaja Bell in ceramics and pottery. Shop early for the holidays! Discover imaginative sculpture and mixed media, handcrafted furniture, unique jewelry, hand-made soaps, rustic birdhouses, inventive ironwork, hand-blown glass, fun and fanciful pottery, and lots more at the Arts Market this Saturday from 8AM - 12noon!

Sunday in the Park
On Sunday, November 7, 2010, Big Sam's Funky Nation shows why they are the absolute leader of Funk at Sunday in the Park. Enjoy Big Sam on November 7th and the remaining Sunday in the Park on November 14th with Bobby Lonero and the New Orleans Express at a special Italian Festa. Both free concerts are from noon until 3:00 p.m. at Lafayette Park at the Shaw Center for the Arts. Come and celebrate exciting live music, wonderful food, face painting and balloon creations. A free bike valet will be provided by B.R.A.S.S. Face painting and balloon creations will be provided by The Party Artist.

"Music at Mid-Day" Concerts
A FREE lunchtime concert beginning at noon each Wednesday will feature local musicians, student ensembles, professional musicians and a wide variety of music from Classical to Standards, Blues, Jazz and Americana. Downtown patrons interested in attending can bring their own lunch, or contact one of the participating downtown restaurants and order from the Music @ Mid-Day lunch menu. Restaurant partners include Capital City Grill, Stroubes Chophouse, Tsunami Sushi and the Hilton Kingfish. This week starts with Ben Herrington.

Lost Bayou Ramblers @ Red Star
Carrying their cajun roots into the future, the Lost Bayou Ramblers evolve from a south Louisiana musical heritage with a raw, heavy thumping, roots driven, form of cajun music. 100 Monkey's at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux's on Tuesdays
From the City of Angels comes 100 Monkeys, a band described by as "funk rock" and by as "tribal sounds with vocals recalling Jim Morrison's baritone croon." They will be hosting every Tuesday in November at Boudreaux and Thibodeaux's. Times vary, so check calendar at:

LASM after Hours & First Sunday
Unwind after work and learn more about the 1960s art scene and the significant contributions to art history made by world-renowned neon sculptor and native Louisianian Keith Sonnier. LASM's curator will lead a guided tour of the exhibition, Keith Sonnier: Fort Crévecoeur. Enjoy complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres with admission: members free, nonmembers $7.
