Main Street Market
Located in the first floor of the Galvez Garage at 501 Main Street in Downtown Baton Rouge, Main Street Market provides a daily venue for Downtown employees and visitors to Baton Rouge. It also serves as the location for the Saturday Farmers Market. With over 10 regular merchants offering unique market items and food, there is something for everyone. Stop by the Main Street Market for great Downtown shopping and a delicious bite to eat! Free parking is available in the Galvez Garage with merchant validation.

Market Hours: Monday - Friday 8AM until 4PM, Saturday 8AM until 1PM.

The Grascals at Manship Theatre

BR Arts Market Returns Saturday
After a short break in January, The Baton Rouge Arts Market resumes its regular schedule of every first Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at 5th and Main Streets in Downtown Baton Rouge. Shop for Valentine's Day with over 60 artists from Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas and Florida who will present original works of art in a variety of mediums including, pottery, jewelry, woodwork, textiles, photographs, glass, paintings, sculpture, hand-made soaps and so much more. The Baton Rouge Arts Market is held in conjunction with the weekly Red Stick Farmers Market and the Main Street Market.

LASM presents: An Artist's Perspective Talk with A.J. Meek
Join A.J. Meek, local photographer and Louisiana State University professor emeritus of art, for an informal gallery talk about the current exhibitions American Ruins: Photographs by Arthur Drooker and The Dark Side: Photographs by Clarence John Laughlin, 1935-1961. Meek will offer insight into the role of photographer as artist and documentarian, and speak about the photographic techniques employed by both artists.

Super Saturday Fun
It's the First Saturday and that means fun for the whole family! The Kids Korner will continue inside Main Street Market this Saturday from 9-11 AM with fun art activities for our little market shoppers. The Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature Kevin Tien from Tsunami Restaurant in downtown Baton Rouge. The demonstration begins at 10 AM inside the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. Plus, the Arts Market returns with over 60 artists from the Gulf region. Red Stick Farmers, fishers and food artisans will also have a great variety of fresh foods and ready to serve menu items for your Super Bowl party! See you this Saturday from 8-12. Though all three artists were often overlooked in their time, their perseverance and their varied output has made a vibrant mark on American painting.

Music at Mid-Day
Free lunchtime concerts beginning at noon each Wednesday will feature local musicians, student ensembles, professional musicians and a wide variety of music from Classical to Standards, Blues, Jazz and Americana. Downtown patrons interested in attending can bring their own lunch or order takeout from any downtown area restaurant.
