Free lunch hour lecture series at Louisiana State Museum
Lunchtime Lagniappe, a weekly series of lively presentations on local history will run at the Louisiana State Museum on March 16, 23, & 30. Designed for downtown workers on a break, the free hourlong programs are held at noon each Wednesday. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and may come and go as their schedules require. The Louisiana State Museum Friends make refreshments available for a small donation.

This week at the Market
Get the luck of the Irish with fresh, seasonal vegetables at the Market this week. Green veggies this Saturday will include cabbage, spinach, cucumbers, asparagus, arugula, Swiss chard, kale and a variety of winter greens. This Saturday's Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature a Mediterranean inspired dish from Ender Metin of Red Stick vendor Nur's Kitchen. The cooking demonstration begins at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. Mel Chavis will be entertaining shoppers with zydeco tunes outside, while the Lagniappe Dulcimers perform inside Main Street Market. The Red Stick Farmer's Market is every Saturday from 8AM -12PM at Fifth & Main Streets.

Strand's at 226 Laurel Street would like to announce changes to their hours. They will now be closed on Mondays, and starting on March 18 they will be open on Friday nights until 10PM.
