Many great Downtown events planned for the upcoming season

Start spending your weekends in the beautiful weather Downtown! Live after Five and Sunday in the Park free concert series start this weekend, and that fresh feeling is in the air. It's time for sunny days, comfortable clothes, and plenty of exciting activities Downtown! Below are a few special events that will take place this weekend. Arrive early or stay late for dining, a quick snack, or to explore our Downtown Merchants and their wonderful goods and services. Live after Five - AZ Young Park
The weekend starts off with the first concert of the 2011 Live after Five Spring Season with the Andy Smith Band. Due to the construction of North Boulevard Town Square and the new permanent stage at Galvez Plaza, Live After Five will be held at the opposite end of Third Street at A.Z. Young Park (3rd Street & Spanish Town Road.) View FREE Trolley Route. Parking in the State Garage (Third and Convention) and the State Welcome Center Garage is available for $3! Sunday in the Park
The 2011 Sunday in the Park free concert series promises to usher in Spring with Louisiana style. The season starts this Sunday, April 3 with Jon Cleary and continues for 6 consecutive Sunday's Downtown from Noon until 3PM at Lafayette Park across from the Shaw Center for the Arts. Life After 50 Expo
The Life after 50 Expo that will take place on Saturday, April 2 from 8AM-3PM at the Baton Rouge River Center offers something for everyone. From seminars and screening to stage presentations on healthy eating and meal preparation, spring and summer fashion, Zumba- a popular fitness program inspired by Latin dance and ballroom dancing demonstrations.
