2011 Faces of Hope featuring the documentary "Playground"
Trafficking Hope presents the 2011 Faces of Hope Gala and Silent Auction, featuring the Baton Rouge premiere of "Playground," a documentary film on human trafficking and the child sex trade in America. The film is executive produced by George Clooney, Steven Soderbergh, and others. All proceeds will go to fund an awareness campaign and building a Hope House... the first safe house for victims of human trafficking in the State of Louisiana. Buy tickets

Red Stick Farmer's Market
Shoppers will find flats of this antioxidant rich summer fruit from Morrow Farm, Rico Farm and Equiterra Farms. The Fresh from the Market cooking show will feature a special blueberry canning demonstration as part of the Discover You CAN summer educational program. Chefs from Louisiana Culinary Institute will offer simple recipes and tips for preserving the summer blueberry crop. Samples, coupons, recipe cards and beginners canning tips will be available. The demonstration begins at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. The market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM at Fifth and Main Streets.
