Local Businesses Announce Expansion
Expansion of 10 businesses/non-profits make strong statement for Downtown

A record number of over 150 people attended The City Club this morning for the June DDD Commission Meeting where 10 new businesses/non-profits announced plans for expansion or start-up. The sheer number of meeting attendees is a testament to the momentum of Downtown Development, and the constant private economic growth makes a strong statement for the viability of Downtown.

Below is a list of the private developments announced this morning. We welcome them, and thank them all for their commitment to Downtown Baton Rouge.

ZOLIA'S
II City Plaza will welcome Zolia's Italian restaurant this summer. Zolia's will be a casual, upscale Italian bistro and wine bar on the first floor.
CITY CLUB RENOVATION AND EXPANSION
The City Club will soon undergo a $2.1 million expansion that will include an exterior terrace and banquet kitchen.
DEARMAN'S
Dearman's is bringing their classic soda fountains and diner style lunch menu to the 19th Judicial District Courthouse building.
HARTLEY/ VEY STUDIO THEATRE
Manship Theatre is planning a North Boulevard entrance to their new 'club style' Hartley / Vey Studio Theatre.
VIKING CULINARY SCHOOL
Colonnade Hospitality and Viking Culinary Group have announced plans for a Viking culinary school on the pool deck of the Hilton Capitol Center Hotel.
CITY BAR
City Bar from Lafayette will soon bring drinks, music, and much more to the old Avoyelles location at 333 Third Street.
326/324 THIRD STREET
The former site of Latil's and Wag's on the Levee has been acquired by Andy Blouin and Sean Malone along with 334 and 333 Third Street. Plans are being developed for a possible restaurant/entertainment venue at 336/324 Third Street.
TILT - WEB & GRAPHIC DESIGN
Tilt will be the first tenant in the Lafayette Gallery or the historic Tessier Building on Lafayette Street.
300 SEATS
A multi-functional art and culture-oriented space designed to enhance the independent and artistic offerings in Baton Rouge held its launch party at the Kress last week.
SPRINGBOARD EXECUTIVE OFFICES
An entrepreneurial executive office space in the Kress building at Third and Main streets opening by September 1.
