2011 Friends of the Animals - Annual Summer Fundraiser
Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge is a non-profit animal welfare organization seeking to encourage and improve the humane treatment of animals at East Baton Rouge Parish Animal Control. A fundraiser will be held at the Roux House this evening, Tuesday, June 21 @ 7PM. Silent Auction and entertainment by Letters in Red.

Squash-Tastic
The summer long Fresh Fest continues this weekend with Squash-Tastic! Shoppers can find a wide variety of summer squashes including yellow crookneck, zephyr, butternut, patty pan, zucchini, spaghetti, cushaw and cucuzza. The Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature a summer squash soup with a salsa verde by Maureen Joyce of MJ's Café. The cooking demo begins at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. Stop in to learn how to cook with summer squash and sample the recipe! The Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM at Fifth and Main Streets.
