Economic Incentives

Several of these projects were made possible through economic incentives offered for downtown development. Information for the numerous incentives available can be found here. For additional information about these projects and the economic incentives please call 389-5520 or email us at DDD@brgov.com

"A paramount reason why we are focused on development projects in downtown Baton Rouge is because of the economic incentives available. We have utilized several tax incentive packages that have increased the economic feasibility of developments such as the Kress Building and the Hotel Indigo. These economic incentives motivate developers to reinvest in existing structures, using preservation as a tool for growth and development."

John Schneider
Chairman, Vision City Dev. Group, LLC
Downtown Property Owner and Resident

"The economic incentives available in downtown Baton Rouge offer a great opportunity to preserve the historic character and scale of downtown Baton Rouge while providing an economic stimulus to reuse existing structures. As an architect on downtown projects such as the Kress Welsh-Levy, we always encourage our clients to take full advantage of economic incentives that will in turn encourage the adaptive reuse of existing downtown structures."
