"A paramount reason why we are focused on development projects in downtown Baton Rouge is because of the economic incentives available. We have utilized several tax incentive packages that have increased the economic feasibility of developments such as the Kress Building and the Hotel Indigo. These economic incentives motivate developers to reinvest in existing structures, using preservation as a tool for growth and development."

"The economic incentives available in downtown Baton Rouge offer a great opportunity to preserve the historic character and scale of downtown Baton Rouge while providing an economic stimulus to reuse existing structures. As an architect on downtown projects such as the Kress Welsh-Levy, we always encourage our clients to take full advantage of economic incentives that will in turn encourage the adaptive reuse of existing downtown structures."
