The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus
The Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus comes to the River Center July 28 - 31. You can save $5 on adult tickets by going to ticketmaster.com and using the promotional code, YMCA. The River Center will make a donation to the YMCA Changing Lives Campaign for each person using the code.

Young Band Summer Slam
Eight student bands of Baton Rouge Music Studios' "Young Band Nation" spent the summer writing an original song, recording it, and creating a music video for it. Each band will premiere the music video and follow it up with a live performance of the song! The ages of our students range from 9-18 years old.

Blue Dogs and Cajuns on the River
This exhibit features over eighty original paintings and sculptures that illustrate the progression of George Rodrigue's forty-year career and reveal the origins of his iconic Blue Dog. The exhibition includes a series of Rodrigue's famous Blue Dog paintings from the New Orleans Museum of Art, as well as signature works from local collectors and the artist's personal collection. Everything Eggplant
Summer's Fresh Fest continues as we celebrate the eggplant. Shoppers will find glove-shaped eggplant in purple, pale lavender, jade green and white. The Fresh from the Market cooking show will feature Chef Jamie Stephens of Enoteca Marcello's Wine Bar & Café. Join Chef Stephens and host Chef Celeste Gill at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market to learn how to prepare eggplant varieties found at the Market. Stick around for zydeco music by Mel Chavis and a performance of young violinists from the studio of Danis Salassi. The Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM at Fifth and Main Streets.

AIA Baton Rouge 2011 Rose Awards Gala
Join the American Institute of Architects as they unveil and celebrate award winning architecture and development produced by firms from nine surrounding parishes. A jury of peers from out-of-state firms will be graciously viewing all submissions, and will share their insight during the evening as all submissions will be on display. In addition, you will have the opportunity to hear directly from the architects about their award winning designs.
