National Farmers Market Week
Join farmers markets from across the country in the kick off of National Farmers Market Week August 6th through August 13th. Children will be invited to create special art cards for their favorite farmers. The weekly Fresh from the Market cooking show will feature chef Michael Loupe of the Kingfish Restaurant in the Capitol Hilton downtown. Chef Loupe will show market shoppers how to use a variety of late summer ingredients in healthy farm to table recipes. The cooking demonstration will begin at 10 AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. he Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM at Fifth and Main Streets.
