Freedom Walk and Patriot Day Ceremony at the USS KIDD Join the USS KIDD for the annual Freedom Walk and Patriot Day observances. The Freedom Walk is a tradition reflecting on the lives lost on September 11, 2001, renewing our commitment to freedom and the values of our country, in addition to honoring our veterans, past and present. This year is the 10th anniversary of that tragic day. Patriot Day ceremonies will begin at 8:30AM on the museum grounds to honor and remember Louisiana natives lost in the Pentagon and World Trade Center attacks: Lt. Michael Scott Lamana (USN), Kevin Wayne Yokum (USN), Louis Calvin Williams, Leo Russell Keen, and Robert J. Hymel. The walk will begin immediately following the ceremony. The ceremony and walk are free and open to the public.
