Live after Five fall season continues with the V-Tones
The fall season of Live after Five continues this Friday with the V-Tones who formed in 2005 with one purpose in mind - to play great classic rock music that people can dance to. They consist of 4 doctors, one attorney and two general managers of car dealerships. They pride themselves with great vocal talent which allows them to cover just about any song. If you like classic rock and love to dance, come see the V-Tones.

Last week of Blue Dogs and Cajuns on the River at LSU MOA
Blue Dogs and Cajuns on the River features over eighty original paintings and sculptures that illustrate the progression of George Rodrigue's forty-year career and reveal the origins of his iconic Blue Dog. The exhibition includes a series of Rodrigue's famous Blue Dog paintings from the New Orleans Museum of Art, as well as signature works from local collectors and the artist's personal collection.

Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet, An Evening of Dance at Manship Theatre
Willow Oak Contemporary Ballet is proud to present "An Evening of Dance" showcasing four premiere choreographic works by Artistic Director, Tamu Wilson Ortenzio, ranging in style from neo-classical ballet to contemporary. WOCB will present fresh, genre-crossing collaborations that beautifully marry classical renditions with a contemporary twist.

Red Stick Green Drinks is a monthly gathering for environmentally minded Baton Rouge residents to meet, exchange ideas, and just generally have a good time! Main Street Market
Fall pumpkins have arrived and shoppers can choose from a variety of colors, shapes and sizes this weekend. The Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature chef Kelly Patrick Williams of Tony Chacheres. Chef Williams and host chef Celeste Gill will highlight seasonal produce in easy recipes for the home cook. Shoppers can watch the demo and sample the finished dishes beginning at 10AM in the North Street seating area of Main Street Market. Musical entertainment this Saturday will include the Lagniappe Dulcimer Society at 8:30AM inside Main Street Market and blues duo Leblanc & Hoppenstedt outside at the Red Stick Farmers Market. The Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM at Fifth and Main Streets.

Cuisine Month at Foundation for Historical Louisiana
In Starving the South: How the North Won the Civil War, food scholar Andrew Smith takes an in-depth look at the war from a unique perspective: food production and distribution. He will lecture and sign his new book in Baton Rouge on Thursday, September 15, at the Old Governor's Mansion. The event, sponsored by the Foundation for Historical Louisiana, is free and open to the public. In his lecture at the Old Governor's Mansion, Smith will answer "Did hunger defeat the Confederacy?"

Rock the Roof at the YMCA
Rock the Roof is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament being held on the 7th floor roof of the Third Street Lasalle parking garage. Literally take your game to new heights as players will experience a great view of the downtown and the river. There will be 4 divisions; middle school, high school, adult and 40 years and older. Entrance cost is $50 per team and the tournament will be double elimination. Cash prizes will be given to the adult winning team while Academy Sports and Outdoors will give prizes to the winning youth team. Registration begins at 8AM.
