Live After Five fall season continues with Chasing Scarlett
Live After Five in Downtown Baton Rouge is the capital city's premier FREE live music event, hosted by the Downtown Business Association. The fall season of Live After Five continues this Friday with Chasing Scarlett, a super group of talent, with a unique sound that is one-of-a-kind. The members of this group are comprised of seasoned musicians who have joined forces to create a sound that fans have called "Americana roots rock," and quite simply put "rock with a fiddle!"

Sunday in the Park kicks off this weekend!
The 2011 FREE Fall Concert starts on Sunday, October 2nd and continues for 6 consecutive Sunday's downtown from noon until 3PM in historic Lafayette Park across from the Shaw Center for the Arts. Come and enjoy amazing live music, wonderful food, face painting and balloon creations. Sunday in the Park is a fall and spring series of free outdoor concerts for the arts in collaboration with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge and 225 Magazine.

Art Talk at LASM

First Saturday at the Markets
Enjoy beautiful fall weather and a great selection of produce this Saturday at Red Stick Farmers Market. Featured fall items will include squash blossoms, persimmons, sweet potatoes, pumpkins, mustard greens and chestnuts. Chef Celeste Gill will demonstrate easy to prepare dishes using seasonal vegetables from the fall harvest. The Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration begins at 10:30 AM inside the North Street entrance to Main Street Market. Shoppers will also enjoy music by the Lagniappe Dulcimer Society, the Baton Rouge Arts Market and face painting for young market shoppers. The Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM at Fifth and Main Streets.
