25th Annual Turkey Trot
Get a head start on your Thanksgiving feast while supporting the March of Dimes' efforts to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The Turkey Trot offers a 5k Run and a 1-Mile Fun Run/Turkey Walk.

Markets Open Saturday After Thanksgiving
Red Stick Farmers Market and Main Street Market are the perfect outing for friends, family and out of town guests during the Thanksgiving holiday. The Markets will be open this Saturday, November 26th beginning at 8AM. Start off the morning with a cup of coffee and a hot breakfast inside Main Street Market while enjoying the many artisan shops. Then, head outside for the freshest produce in town from local farmers as well as artisan cheeses, meats, seafood, breads, pies, honey, native plants and fresh cut flowers. The Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM at Fifth and Main Streets.

Chubby Carrier & The Bayou Swamp Band
Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band are turning heads around the world and bringing Louisiana flavor to the masses. The funky zydeco band's latest release, "Zydeco Junkie," earned one of the highest musical accolades when it was named Best Zydeco / Cajun Album during the 53rd annual Grammy Awards celebration in February 2011.

Mignon Faget Exhibition at the Capitol Park Museum
A major exhibition celebrating the life and work of noted Louisiana artist and jewelry designer Mignon Faget is now open at Capitol Park Museum and it will run through Feb. 25. Mignon Faget: A Life in Art and Design, originally organized by the Historic New Orleans Collection, features hundreds of objects including jewelry, prints, linoleum blocks, drawings, glassware and textiles. The exhibition presents the artist's commercial work and commissioned pieces for Mardi Gras krewes, museums and numerous charitable organizations.

This exhibition highlights the magic and timelessness of the circus through the Museum's spectacular collection of toys, fine art, turn-of-the-century photos and circus posters on loan from a private collector.
