2011 Downtown Development Yearbook
Pages of Progress

2011 was an exciting time for downtown, and as the year comes to a close, we look back proudly, celebrating all of the accomplishments along the way. We broke ground on many exciting new projects, watched as foundations turned into buildings, and enjoyed the festivities of ribbon cuttings and grand openings!

We thank the countless individuals who support our mission and initiatives, enabling downtown Baton Rouge to grow and develop into a truly special place. We remain dedicated to the development and promotion of downtown Baton Rouge and we look forward to even greater success in 2012.

City Stats - EBR Residents Support a Vibrant Downtown

"The Baton Rouge Area Foundation has produced three CityStats reports to measure the quality of life in East Baton Rouge Parish. They have done so by tracking publicly available statistics and with a companion survey of the parish. These annual reports offer a roadmap for community improvement, telling us where we are, how far we've come and where we need to go. The report is publicly available, in hopes that nonprofits and governments work in tandem to give all people of EBR a chance to prosper."

"What the poll found may surprise many. A vast majority want local government to spend more or at least the same on downtown in coming years, and there is agreement across the parish. Even in Baker-Central-Zachary, a plurality want government to spend more on downtown in the next decade. Also, they want a major riverfront attraction, but are uncertain over what that attraction should be." - City Stats Report
