Mayor's Family Bike Day
Mayor-President Melvin L. "Kip" Holden invites everyone to join him and members of the Baton Rouge Police Bicycle Division as they kick off the Mayor's Healthy City Initiative by biking the 2 mile stretch of the Mississippi River Levee from the U.S.S. Kidd to LSU's Skip Bertman Drive.

Gather on the Riverfront Levee Stage adjacent to the USS KIDD at 8AM and roll down the river levee to LSU's Skip Bertman Drive and back downtown. After the ride, enjoy free food and entertainment focused on making Baton Rouge a healthier community, as well as activities for the whole family.

Blues Week!
Join us for The Baton Rouge Blues Week 2009 April 15-26. Events will be held at Repentance Park between River Center and The Old State Capital on River Rd and numerous local establishments. Events will coincide with Live After Five, Sunday in the Park, and Earth Day 2009 which will kick off the official first night in Repentance Park on Sunday April 19th. The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will be held Saturday April 25 at 9:30PM in Repentance Park.

Red Stick Farmer's Market
On the first Saturday of each month, the East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners are at the Red Stick Farmers Market to offer expert advice on seasonal gardening and often provide free soil sample kits. The Fresh from the Market Cooking Show happens every Saturday inside Main Street Market. This cooking demonstration showcases local chefs and food lovers from around Louisiana. Also on the first Saturday of each month, except January and May, the Baton Rouge Arts Market sets up next to the Red Stick Farmers Market.
