Simmering in the Square
The Baton Rouge Black Chamber of Commerce and DVJ, LLC will co-host Simmering in the Square on Saturday, March 24 from 12PM - 8PM in the newly constructed North Boulevard Town Square, Town Lawn stage. Simmering in the Square is a FREE spring concert featuring Bent, N'Tune, and Ampersand. With beautiful weather in the forecast, spend your day Downtown and enjoy the live music! Food and beverages to be sold at the event.

BRSO Entergy Masterworks VII Closing Night
The Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra prepares for the season finale of "La Belle Époque de la Symphonie; France and its Influence on the Musical Arts". A blockbuster night is planned, including the full orchestra led by Maestro Muffitt, the Baton Rouge Symphony Chorus led by Chorus Master David Shaler, and guest artist soprano and LSU Alumnus, Jane Redding. Stroube's Chophouse is offering a delicous dinner special to compliment this spectacular event!

Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music

Music at the Market
Put on your dancing shoes and head downtown this Saturday morning for lively zydeco music at the Red Stick Farmers Market. Accordion player Mel Chavis will entertain market goers as they shop for the farm fresh produce including late winter and early spring offerings. The Fresh from the Market cooking demonstration will feature student chefs from the Louisiana Culinary Institute preparing seasonal dishes with fresh market ingredients. Join the fun beginning at 10AM inside the North Street seating area of Main Street Market and stick around to sample the chefs' creation. The Red Stick Farmers Market takes place every Saturday from 8AM-12PM on the corner of Fifth and Main Streets.



Lunchtime Lagniappe
Lunchtime Lagniappe, a weekly series of lively presentations on local history will run at the Capitol Park Museum on Wednesdays through March 28. Designed for downtown workers on a break, the free hour long programs are held at noon each Wednesday. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lunch and may come and go as their schedules require. The Capitol Park Museum friends make refreshments available for a small donation.

Yoga in the Square
Karmady Yoga, a new downtown business, would like to introduce themselves to the downtown community by offering free yoga classes in the new North Boulevard Town Square! Whether you are interested in flexibility, strength, stress reduction or balance, this class will help you learn in a non-threatening way. You will experience a gentle, slow approach to postures, allowing you to experience each pose. The session will close with an emphasis placed on relaxation and allowing a restoration of the body and mind. The classes are held on Tuesdays before the Happy's Running Club gets going, so come drop in any time from 4:45PM - 6PM and join in. Props are provided if you don't have your own.

Crawfish Sundays at Lucy's
Every Sunday at 3PM Lucy's is boiling up crawfish with all the fixin's! $15 for a 3lb. tray and $25 for all you can eat. Rock The Roof at the YMCA
Rock the Roof is a 3 on 3 basketball tournament being held on the 7th floor roof of the Third Street Lasalle parking garage. Literally take your game to new heights as players will experience a great view of the downtown and the river. There will be 3 divisions; middle school, high school and adult. Entrance cost is $50 per team and the tournament will be double elimination. Cash prizes will be given to the adult winning team. Registration begins at 8AM. Sign up now!
