YMCA Spring Outdoor Fitness Series / Karmady Yoga
This spring the Downtown Development District is partnering with the YMCA and Karmady Yoga to bring free outdoor health classes to downtown. Starting Monday April 9th at 5:15PM, downtown's new North Boulevard Town Square will be a hub for physical outdoor activity. The YMCA will provide FREE Zumba classes on Mondays and Wednesdays while Karmady Yoga will continue offering their FREE class on Tuesdays at 4:45PM just before Happy's Running Club gets going at 6PM.
Come stop by after work and enjoy the beautiful weather while getting a great workout. The Downtown Development District invites everyone to get fit, Downtown!

Zumba - YMCA Spring Outdoor Fitness Series Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements. This class is "exercise in disguise" as you experience various dances and improve your cardiovascular endurance. If you have been looking to shake up your workout routine then this is the perfect class for you!

Karmady Yoga Whether you are interested in flexibility, strength, stress reduction or balance, this class will help you learn in a non-threatening way. You will experience a gentle, slow approach to postures, allowing you to experience each pose. The session will close with an emphasis placed on relaxation and allowing a restoration of the body and mind. Props are provided if you don't have your own.

Happy's Running Club As always, Happy's Running Club will meet at 6PM (run begins at 6:15 sharp) starting at the Roux House Patio on 3rd Street. Don't worry, maps of the route(s) are provided before the weekly Tuesday run, and when they say EVERY Tuesday they mean it! Rain, shine, sleet, or snow, you can count on a group of runners being there. All ages and abilities welcome.

Levee Bike Path With the recently completed levee bike path extension from LSU to Farr Park, there is now a continuous 6 mile stretch of levee bike path from downtown. Riders can access the path at Florida St @ River Road or South Boulevard @ River Road. The 15 foot wide path includes separate lanes for bicycles and walkers/joggers as well as lighting, seating and water fountains. |
