Live After Five presents: Pine Leaf Boys Live After Five in Downtown Baton Rouge is the capital city's premier FREE live music event, hosted by the Downtown Business Association. The four-time Grammy-Nominated, world-renown Pine Leaf Boys have made a name for presenting their own inimitable brand of Cajun music with youthful exuberance. Hailing from the southwest Louisiana, the Pine Leaf Boys, known for their wild shows and thoughtful arrangements, have breathed new life into Cajun music, reviving ancient songs and bringing them to the bandstand. Soul Salvation: Paul Thorn & Ruthie Foster Touring together for the first time, Ruthie and Paul Thorn blend blues, rock, gospel, folk, R&B and country music for what promises to be a memorable show. Contemporary Blues Female Artist of the Year, Ruthie Foster was just nominated for three 2012 Blues Music Awards. Born in Tupelo, Mississippi, Thorn has jumped out of airplanes, battled four-time world champion boxer Roberto Durán on national television, opened for Bonnie Raitt, Mark Knopfler, and John Prine among many other headliners, and made some of the most emotionally restless yet fully accessible music of our time.
